Cookie & Tracking Policy
Last updated:
1.What This Policy Covers
This Cookie & Tracking Policy explains how PolitiMind uses cookies, local storage, device fingerprinting, and similar technologies on our websites and applications.
2.Categories We Use
- Strictly necessary: session cookies, CSRF tokens, authentication state. Required for the Services to function.
- Functional: the
pmind_voter_idcookie used to deduplicate guest poll submissions; preference cookies (theme, language). - Analytics: Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager, used in aggregate to improve the product. Honors GPC opt-out signals.
- Fingerprint dedupe: SHA-256 hash of device signals to prevent sybil attacks in public polls. Stored as a one-way hash, not raw fingerprints.
- Error & session monitoring: Sentry collects errors and limited session replay (with input masking) for debugging.
3.Third-Party Cookies
We use Google (analytics, tag manager), HubSpot (CRM and forms), and Sentry (monitoring). These vendors set cookies under their own privacy policies, which govern their processing.
4.Your Choices
- Browser settings let you block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly-necessary cookies will break the Services.
- Browser-level GPC signals are honored as opt-out of sale/sharing under U.S. state privacy laws.
- Opt out of Google Analytics via the GA opt-out browser add-on.
5.Consent Banner & Preference Controls
A consent banner is live for all visitors. It offers granular category toggles (functional, analytics) and a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" control. You can reopen it anytime from the Cookie Preferences link in the site footer. Browser-level Global Privacy Control signals are detected automatically and lock analytics off and the sale/share opt-out on. To exercise broader privacy rights, use our Privacy Rights Request form or contact chris@politimind.com.
6.Changes
We will update this Policy when our tracking practices change. Material changes will be noted in the "Last updated" date above.
