Accessibility Statement
Last updated:
1.Our Commitment
PolitiMind, Inc. is committed to making PolitiMind usable by everyone, including people who rely on assistive technology. Civic infrastructure that only some citizens can operate is not civic infrastructure. We target conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, and we design with Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 508 in mind.
2.Conformance Status
PolitiMind is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partially conformant means some parts of the content do not yet fully conform. We assess conformance through a combination of automated auditing, keyboard-only testing, and screen-reader spot checks on primary flows.
3.Measures We Take
- Semantic HTML with a single H1 per page, landmark regions, and skip-to-content behavior.
- Keyboard operability for all interactive controls, including polling, search, and navigation.
- Accessible names and ARIA labeling on icon-only controls, charts, and gauges.
- Text alternatives for meaningful images, including politician portraits and score visualizations.
- Color contrast targets met against our dark theme; information is never conveyed by color alone.
- Respect for reduced-motion preferences in animated components.
- Accessibility checks included in our routine pre-release review.
4.Known Limitations
We are transparent about where we fall short today:
- Data visualizations. Radar and gauge components expose underlying values as text, but complex comparisons may still be difficult with a screen reader. A tabular alternative view is in progress.
- Third-party embeds. The identity-verification flow and CRM forms are vendor-rendered; their accessibility is partly outside our control. We escalate defects to vendors and track them.
- Wallet and on-chain flows. External wallet interfaces are governed by their own providers.
- Published resource content. Older articles may contain images lacking descriptive alt text; we are backfilling.
5.Feedback & Remediation SLA
If you encounter a barrier, tell us. Email chris@politimind.com with the page URL, the assistive technology and browser you were using, and what happened.
- Acknowledgement: within 3 business days.
- Assessment and plan: within 10 business days.
- Remediation of blocking barriers: targeted within 30 days, or an accessible alternative is offered in the interim.
6.Alternative Access
If a feature is not usable for you, we will provide the same information or service through an alternative channel at no additional cost. Contact us at the address above and describe what you need.
7.Assessment Approach
Self-evaluation using automated tooling (Lighthouse and axe-based scans) plus manual keyboard and screen-reader testing on primary flows: search, poll participation, account creation, and the resources library. We intend to commission an independent third-party audit prior to general availability.
